India’s First Negative Pressure ALS Ambulance

Advanced Infection Control and Patient Transport in Collaboration with IIT Ropar

At Sunshine Health Care Systems, we have developed India’s first Negative Pressure Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance in collaboration with IIT Ropar. This state-of-the-art ambulance meets the highest international specifications for managing both airborne and non-airborne infectious diseases, ensuring the safe transfer of patients while preventing cross-infection. It is equipped with a specially designed suction system built to global standards and maintains negative pressure of more than −15 Pa, enabling 12–15 air changes per hour. The integrated HEPA-grade filtration system effectively removes up to 99.97% of airborne pathogens. A negative pressure ambulance uses advanced ventilation and air filtration technology to keep the air pressure inside the patient cabin lower than the outside environment. This ensures that potentially contaminated air does not escape, significantly reducing the risk of infection to paramedics, drivers, and the general public during the transport of infectious patients.
